SPECIAL NEEDS COLLABORATOR - Elizabeth/Larue County 

Head Start has an opening for a  Special Needs Collaborator for Elizabethtown/Larue County.  The SNC will coordinate the disabilities activities for children with a defined disability.  This includes establishing and maintaining a cooperative working relationship with other Head Start services, maintaining records work with other agencies, implementing screenings, assessing and working with teachers and parents to aid their understanding of the needs of the child receiving services.  Establish an Individual Education Plan in cooperation with parents, teachers and public school officials. Bachelors or Associates Degree in Education, Special Education or in a related area. Experience working with families and children with special needs. Strong knowledge of disabilities issues. NUTRITION AIDE – St. Catharine’s Center – Washington County

The Head Start Program is in need of a Nutrition Aide for the St. Catharine’s  Center in Washington County. The Nutrition Aide position is responsible for direct nutritional service delivery to Head Start/Early Head Start children in accordance to the Head Start Performance Standards and federal, state, and local regulations.  Responsible for implementing the delivery of nutritional service to students on a daily basis. Responsible for transporting and/or receiving meals from the food service providers. Assists the children in setting the tables, serving the food and the sanitary disposal of unused meals. Performs cleaning and sanitizing duties such as; washing dishes, utensils, equipment, counters, cabinets, chairs and tables; along with trash removal, food preparation surfaces sanitation and food storage appliances and equipment cleansing.  Oversees and maintains inventory of food items, supplies and materials. Monitors and records the temperature of cold and hot food items to ensure food items are served at appropriate and acceptable temperatures. Food preparation, including attention to detail regarding children with modified diets and appropriate portion sizes. Serving as an effective role model for children, parents and volunteers in the area of nutrition. TEACHER ASSISTANTS – Marion/Larue/Hardin/Washington Counties

Participate in classroom activities under direction of a certified teacher.  Supervise and manage students.  Comply with all Head Start Federal Performance Standards regarding the care and education of children.  Observe and evaluate student performance.  Implement lesson plans.  Instruct and monitor students.    Present subject matter to students under teacher direction.  Organize and label materials.  Provide extra assistance to students with special needs.  Prepare training aids for the classroom.  Perform routine clerical functions.  Participate in classroom set-up and clean-up.  Participate in in-service training.  Complete timely and accurate documentation.  Maintain order in classroom. CK CATS Driver

Central Kentucky Community Action Transportation Services is seeking a qualified individual to provide safe transportation services for clients utilizing the agency's transportation service. Individual will be required, but not limited to the following duties: Provide direct, personalized transportation service to enrolled participants, and assist, as necessary, participants with bundles and/or packages (not in excess of 15 lbs) to and from the vehicle, their residence and/or service destination in agency owned motor vehicle; Must establish and maintain effective relationships within the agency and the community; Must be able to work flexible hours as scheduling may vary daily; Report any problems and locale to the lead driver and/or dispatcher; Must be able to maintain vehicle cleanliness, inspections and logs daily.

Must have high school diploma or equivalent; must possess a high degree of proficiency in reading and writing. Must understand complete instructions for reports and ability to read maps and learn service area. Must possess a Kentucky driver’s license and have access to automobile. Ability to relate to target population. Good physical health. No disabilities that might impair vision, health and endanger passengers as evidenced by DOT Medical Examiners Certificate. Criminal records check required; freedom from illegal drug use as evidenced by DOT/FTA drug testing. Excellent benefits package available after three-month probationary period.
