The Weatherization Assistance Program is administered by the Department for Community Based Services. The program is designed to provide assistance to low-income dwellings. The purpose of the program is to provide energy conservation improvements to the dwelling in order that the dwelling’s members live in a more safe and healthy environment with a reduction in heating costs.
Sources of funding for the program include an annual allocation from the US Department of Energy and a fifteen percent transfer from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program Block Grant if the Cabinet elects.
