I don’t know about you all, but I am ready for Fall! Cooler weather, changing colors in the leaves, and football all sound pretty great at the moment.
School is in session for most of our Head Start centers. We are so glad to have kiddos back in our buildings and helping our preschoolers become Kindergarten-ready. We have a couple classrooms that are in the final stages of renovation for us to be fully-opened. There are a few slots available for Head Start children, so give us a call if you know anybody who needs high-quality early childhood education.
September 11th concludes our Summer LIHEAP Subsidy component. Thank you to all CKCAC staff for the incredible number of households we have been able to support through this LIHEAP component. As of this writing, we are on pace for nearly 2,500 distinct households receiving LIHEAP subsidy support across our eight counties. Our CSBG staff have been incredibly busy bringing this vital service to needy folks in our community!
Finally, I am excited to help ZeroV, LTADD, and community partners as part of the working group tasked with creating the new domestic violence shelter for our area. If you have any suggestions on how we can better support survivors in our region, do not hesitate to reach out. I am happy to share any insights with this working group.
As always, thank you for all you do.
