Head Start Awareness Month Press Release

Press Release   |   Oct 13, 2022

Every October, we celebrate Head Start’s historical roots, current impact, and lasting legacy.

Head Start Awareness Month is an opportunity to draw attention to the work Head Start does. Every year, we focus on the challenges, the opportunities, and the high-quality services that make Head Start and Early Head Start a leader in early childhood education.

Central Kentucky Head Start serves nearly 500 children and families in our region to provide preschool education of the highest quality, make sure children have nutritious meals and snacks, and through connecting children and families to any social, emotional, parenting, or financial support they may need. All of this has always been and will continue to be provided at no cost to our Head Start families. Fighting poverty in our communities by giving children and families a true “head start” is what we seek to do every day.

Central Kentucky Head Start needs your help in accomplishing this mission. If you or somebody you know wants to join this fight against poverty, we have many employment and volunteer opportunities available. We want your passion for service to help the neediest families in our communities. Please visit CKCAC Careers website for details of current openings or call our office at 270-692-2136 for more information.

Lastly, we are excited to announce the release of our new Central Kentucky Head Start website. If you want to know more about the exciting and impactful work that is being done, please come see for yourself.
