Through our Senior Companion Program, volunteers provide seniors one-on-one interaction, helping to ease loneliness, boost self-esteem, solve problems and build friendships along the way.
Volunteers perform a variety of helpful tasks including light meal preparation, housecleaning, transportation and respite care, allowing more of our seniors to continue living independently in their own homes. Volunteers do not serve as home health aides, psychologists, social workers, personal drivers or domestics.
It’s no surprise that 95 percent of our clients and their families reported feeling less lonely and received more social support and social ties since joining the program.
Engaging and showing compassion for our senior community is what our dedicated and passionate volunteers strive to do every day. Individuals age 55 or over that are able and willing to dedicate a few hours per week providing assistance and friendship to seniors or disabled persons experiencing difficulty with daily living tasks are encouraged to become a Senior Companion Volunteer.
