How to Reserve a Ride

General public passengers should call (800) 242-8225 or (270) 692-9313 to reserve a ride by 3 p.m. the day prior to departure. Rides may be scheduled up to 30 days in advance. When making a reservation, be prepared to provide the CKCATS dispatcher the following information:


  • Name of Passenger(s)
  • Social Security Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Date and Time of Travel
  • Pick Up Address
  • Destination Address
  • Telephone Number
  • Source of Payment
  • Mobility or Special Needs

Travel authorized through the Medicaid/Passport program must be pre-approved and scheduled through the transportation broker in your area. Residents in Breckinridge, Grayson, Larue, Marion and Nelson counties should contact the GRITS Brokerage at (844) 870-4646 to schedule service. Residents in Washington County should call the Blue Grass Ultra-Service Transit (BUS) Brokerage at (800) 456-6588) to schedule service. Reservations should be made at least three (3) days in advance. Passengers should request CKCATS to be the transportation provider.

Travel to be paid by a social service program, private insurance company or other third-party payee requires an authorized person from the responsible organization/company contact CKCATS to confirm payment arrangements.

Things to Know:
  • Children under age 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Passengers must provide exact fare. Drivers are not permitted to make change.
  • Wheelchair lift equipment is available.
  • Drivers are prohibited from entering passenger’s homes, but will escort the passenger from the main entrance door of the pick-up destination to the main entrance door of the drop-off destination.
  • Portable Personal Oxygen Tanks Accommodated.
  • CKCATS is not an emergency service vehicle.
  • One Personal Care Attendant may ride at no charge. Additional PCA’s will pay $7 per person. Client must inform dispatcher of any accompanying PCAs when trip is scheduled.
  • Service animals are permitted. Client must inform dispatcher of any accompanying service animals when trip is scheduled.
