Senior Center Without Walls

As an extension of the successful Congregate Meals Program, CKCAC in partnership with the Lincoln Trail Area Development District has launched a pilot project, Senior Center Without Walls, to offer qualified senior citizens meal vouchers to a local restaurant. Vouchers are distributed on the last Friday of each month to seniors age 60 and older in Meade County only. Vouchers can be redeemed at Home Plate in Brandenburg for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All approved meals are prepared to provide a low sodium, low cholesterol, diabetic and heart healthy diet.

Additionally, participants are invited to attend any of our monthly gatherings in which nutrition education, health promotion and resource information are provided. Monthly meetings are held at the Meade County Library the last Thursday of every month from 10 am – 2 pm. ET. This project is funded, in part, under a contract with the Lincoln Trail Area Development District, with funds from the Administration on Aging, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
